Mātā Amritanandamayī Devi (born September 27, 1953) is an Indian spiritual leader revered as a saint by her followers, who also know her as “Amma”, “Ammachi” or “Mother”. She is a widely respected humanitarian and called by some “the hugging saint”.

At least for one day,
eat their fill,
There should be one day, when
there is no violence,
No one is injured,
no one is harmed.
All people young and old
should serve the poor and needy,
At least for one day,
serve selflessly
