DROP SLOWLY
Helen Mirkil

What I mean is,
grasp every speck
of the Living Bread
on your way down,
open pores of your tongue
and as days tick,
feel the holy waters
rise, sing hosannas
even as you fall,
raise your arms,
touch the others falling too,
live your sentence freely
slave of love,
hands stretched out
and wildly giving,
even when it hurts
you’ll know the Light inside,
all the way down.
