Robert “Bob” Carlos Clarke (June 24, 1950 – March 25, 2006) was a British photographer who made erotic images of women as well as documentary, portrait and commercial photography.
He is “often referred to as the British Helmut Newton”. In his short life he had a strong impact upon and influenced the development of photography from the late 20th century through to the present day. He authored six books during his career. His work is held in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery, London. Carlos Clarke committed suicide on March 25, 2006.
